Within the depths of every being lives a history of knowledge, memory, vision, and creation. Every home carries this same sacred language — shaped by the hands that build it, the stories it holds, and the lives that unfold within its walls.
Empire Building was founded by Justine Pistorius in 2006, born from a deep respect for building, renovation, restoration, and the transformation of meaningful spaces. Her passion was inspired by her grandfather, Mario Resca, a Master Builder in Kimberley, who immigrated from Italy to South Africa after the Second World War and later established MA Resca Developments.
This legacy of craftsmanship, discipline, and structural excellence forms the foundation of Empire Building. It is a heritage rooted in skill, care, and the belief that a building is never just a structure — it is a reflection of identity, security, and belonging.
Over the years, Empire Building has completed various projects across Johannesburg and Cape Town, including private homes, heritage buildings, renovations, alterations, and carefully considered residential transformations. Each project is approached with attention to detail, respect for the client’s vision, and a commitment to creating work of lasting value.
Our vision is to ensure that every client feels heard, guided, and supported throughout the building journey. We believe that good workmanship is not only measured by the final result, but by the care, communication, and integrity shown through every stage of the project.
Our services include draughting, architectural plans, renovations, alterations, roofing, electrical work, finishes, and complete building project support. Each project is considered according to our clients’ needs, budget, lifestyle, and long-term vision.
