Each piece captures a passage of time where a collection of expansive thoughts dances between the past, the present, the future, and the unknown. All meticulously layered onto the canvas, one above the other until one day, often months or even years later the final strokes and smudges are put in place in alignment with the space between “completion” and “discovery”.
Beyond the old paradigm of completion lies the silent whisper within each artwork – “I need to evolve”
Justine works from within. She draws on inner feeling and emotion to express herself rather than on external subject matter. Her work radiates with the freedom that this gives her, as a contemporary and spiritual artist. She tackles her work with a freshness and without inhibition, which as an artist, is a challenge to achieve. When she works she seems to care more about the process and being in the moment than the result. This results in play and a discussion that takes place between her work and herself with an outcome that is mesmerising. The painting, paint and feelings from within seem to mysteriously guide her.
Each of Justine Pistorius’s works offers the viewer an insight into this emotion and an honesty which reflects in work that continues to give. She expresses her message through an assortment of signs and symbols, hidden within her translations of colours, lines and shapes. She believes that her work will speak to the person it is meant to and find its place in “The History Of Time”.
